Feeling So Sad For My Dear Friend

22 Mar

I feel so lost in my own sadness as I sit here thinking about what you are going through. Honestly, I don’t know how you get up in the mornings and make it through the day.

I don’t know how it feels to lose a child.

I don’t know how it feels. I can’t imagine waking up in the mornings, knowing your precious child isn’t going to join you around the kitchen table.

I don’t know how it feels. As you go into his room, and look at his things, knowing he was there just a few moments ago, but realizing he’s not coming back.

I don’t know how it feels. As the end of senior year is coming up, knowing he’s not going to be walking with his classmates. And when you start receiving those graduation announcements, I can’t even imagine the pain and emptiness you’ll feel.

I don’t know how it feels. I wish I could make it all better with words or actions. I wish I had wise words of comfort.

I’m at a loss.  I don’t know what to say when I see you. I don’t know how to not cry, when I feel like I should be strong for you.

I’m sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers, may God grant you the comfort to make it through your days.

FRIENDS ARE LIKE ANGELS

6 Feb

FRIENDS ARE LIKE ANGELS

Our friends are like angels,
Who brighten our days.
In all kinds of wonderful,
Magical ways.

Their thoughtfulness comes,
As a gift from above.
And we feel we’re surrounded,
By warm, caring love.

Like upside-down rainbows,
Their smiles bring the sun.
And they fill ho-hum moments,
With laughter and fun.

Friends are like angels,
Without any wings.
Blessing our lives,
With the most precious things.

Beethoven’s Love Letters #1

1 Aug

July 6, in the morning

My angel, my all, my very self – Only a few words today and at that with pencil (with yours) – Not till tomorrow will my lodgings be definitely determined upon – what a useless waste of time – Why this deep sorrow when necessity speaks – can our love endure except through sacrifices, through not demanding everything from one another; can you change the fact that you are not wholly mine, I not wholly thine – Oh God, look out into the beauties of nature and comfort your heart with that which must be – Love demands everything and that very justly – thus it is to me with you, and to your with me. But you forget so easily that I must live for me and for you; if we were wholly united you would feel the pain of it as little as I – My journey was a fearful one; I did not reach here until 4 o’clock yesterday morning. Lacking horses the post-coach chose another route, but what an awful one; at the stage before the last I was warned not to travel at night; I was made fearful of a forest, but that only made me the more eager – and I was wrong. The coach must needs break down on the wretched road, a bottomless mud road. Without such postilions as I had with me I should have remained stuck in the road. Esterhazy, traveling the usual road here, had the same fate with eight horses that I had with four – Yet I got some pleasure out of it, as I always do when I successfully overcome difficulties – Now a quick change to things internal from things external. We shall surely see each other soon; moreover, today I cannot share with you the thoughts I have had during these last few days touching my own life – If our hearts were always close together, I would have none of these. My heart is full of so many things to say to you – ah – there are moments when I feel that speech amounts to nothing at all – Cheer up – remain my true, my only treasure, my all as I am yours. The gods must send us the rest, what for us must and shall be –

Your faithful LUDWIG.

Sweet Friendship Poem

23 Jul

Here’s a cute friendship poem by Emily Mathews

Friendship is a blessing
it’s the best you have to share,
The talents and the wisdom,
the capacity to care…
It’s being there to lend support,
whatever needs arise,
It’s making sure that others know
they’re special in your eyes…

Friendship is a blessing,
and, to all who have a friend,
It’s one of the most precious gifts
that life could ever send.

What Is a Friend?

14 Jul

What Is A Friend?
A friend is someone you hold dear:
Someone who is always there, through thick and thin;
Someone who is only a phone call away.

A friend is someone you can always rely on:
Someone who is there to share your thoughts with;
Someone to listen, no matter the subject.

A friend is someone you can feel comfortable with:
Someone you can sit silently beside, without conversation;
Someone you do not need to fill the quiet moments with.

A friend is someone you can trust:
Someone who will guard your deepest secrets;
Someone who will never let you down.

A friend is someone who is not judgmental:
Someone who will gently offer advice and opinions,
Yet, someone who is not overbearing or critical.

A friend is someone who can keep you grounded:
Someone who can help you see through your obstacles;
Someone to shoulder you through life’s trials.

A friend is someone who shares unconditionally:
Someone to laugh and to cry with;
Someone to lean on, through both the good and the bad.

A friend is someone you choose wisely,
For a friend is your own mirrored image:
Someone to compliment your own self;
Someone who indicates who you are as a person.

A friend…. is what you are to me.

A Friendship Poem for Real Friends

9 Jul

Are you tired of those sissy “friendship poems” that always sound good, but are never actually close to reality?  Well, here is a series of promises that actually speak of true friendship. The stone cold truth of our friendship.

1. When you are sad — I will help you get drunk and plot revenge against the sorry bastard who made you that way.
2. When you are blue — I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.
3. When you smile — I will know you finally got laid.
4. When you are scared — I will rag on you about it every chance I get.
5. When you are worried — I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whining.
6. When you are confused — I will use little words.
7. When you are sick — Stay the hell away from me until you are well again. I don’t want to catch whatever you have.
8. When you fall — I will point and laugh at your clumsy ass.
9. This is my oath….. I pledge it to the end. “Why?” you may ask?, “Because you are my friend”. Friendship is like peeing in your pants: everyone can see it, but only you can feel the true warmth.

Someone sent that to me and it made me laugh because it is real without being all mushy about friendship. This is similar to Simple Friend or Real Friend, one of the mushy friendship poems.
